The media receiver KD-X482DBT can be easily installed thanks to its low installation depth of just 100 mm and not only offers brilliant digital radio sound thanks to the high-reception DAB+ receiver, but is also a versatile entertainer and comfortable smartphone all-rounder with USB and Bluetooth. With the integration of the Amazon Alexa function, the digital voice assistant can now also be used conveniently via the car radio.

The DAB+ tuner receives the extensive range of digitally broadcast radio programs in fantastic quality, free of any background noise – and not just in Germany, as digital broadcasting is now available in almost all European countries. “Seamless Blending” enables uninterrupted reception even if the digital signal is temporarily unavailable. The receiver then switches to the corresponding FM station and back again quickly and practically inaudibly. This listening comfort is made possible by a data buffer that permanently stores the digital and analog signals of the selected program and coordinates them when switching.

The Bluetooth module allows safe phone calls while driving and can be paired with up to two phones at the same time. The voice quality of the hands-free system is noticeably improved by using the supplied external microphone, plus sophisticated sound processing that suppresses background noise, for example, and thus further increases speech intelligibility.

Thanks to the streaming DJ function, up to 5 smartphones can be connected to the car radio at the same time for audio playback. The player can switch back and forth between the A2DP streams at any time. Starting the music player on one of the connected smartphones automatically starts playback on the car radio.

With the Amazon Alexa app you can listen to music, check current traffic conditions, create shopping lists, get the latest news and much more. The more you use Alexa, the better the system adapts to your voice and your personal preferences. To use Amazon Alexa via the KD-482DBT, all you need to do is install the app on your smartphone and establish a Bluetooth connection.

The DSP with runtime correction allows music to be played back at the correct time and can be set individually for each channel. By selecting the type of speaker used and the respective distance from the listening position, the car radio automatically calculates the ideal delay for each individual channel to ensure that the sound reaches the listener at the correct time. This achieves ideal spatiality and location.

The VA technology of the LC display enables particularly high contrasts and can be easily read even in difficult lighting conditions. With a total of 13 display elements, all the necessary information is displayed at a glance. The VA display also shows all relevant media information.

By dispensing with an integrated CD drive, the installation depth of this media receiver could be reduced to just 100 millimeters. This means that the car radio can also be used in vehicles with particularly limited installation space or for hidden installation, for example in vintage cars.
